You Actually Could Care Less

Hello blog lovers!

We are gathered here today to discuss the things you care about! Isn’t that fun, my little darlings? Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens… Did the Von Trapp children care about those things?

What do you care about? Your loved ones? Glittery stars in the sky? Nutella? If so, how much do you care?

What about the things you don’t care about? If you were  an evil queen, would you care about whether Snow White is a really lovely person? Or would you cackle like the evil queen and say smugly: “I could care less!” Bwahahahahahahahahaha! Bwaaaahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Before you stare at your self-satisfied reflection in your magic mirror, stop for a minute to think and use a little bit of common sense. If you could care less, it means you actually care to some degree.

So Do You Care or don’t you? Which one is it?

On the other hand, if a person doesn’t care an iota about something, that person, in fact, couldn’t care less, because he or she already lacks any interest in it. If you don’t care at all, it would be impossible to care less. When you say “I could care less”, you’re saying you do care, and it would be entirely possible to care less.

If you don’t care, then express it properly by saying: “I couldn’t care less”.

Easy peasy, delightful ladies and lads! Have a wonderful rest of the day, and don’t take any candy from strangers!

Much love,

The Fairy Godwriter
